We encapsulate the whole theatre experience offering streams in theater set design or acting. Our dedicated performance space (Black Box) provides the nexus for your experience at IT Sligo.
Through out exclusive association with the national theatre of Ireland, The Abbey, we offer students an amazing opportunity to launch their career in theatre.
We draw on the rich heritage of the region but more importantly provide distinct career paths to the world of acting, theatre design and literature.
We pride ourselves on the wealth of experience our professional lecturers bring to the programme. As important are the contacts developed over a lifetime in the business and the passion to introduce new blood to the stage.
Regularly through your programme, you will devise, produce, and deliver performance pieces to audiences both within and outside the college. It's here that true learning is found - experiences sure to bind students as a community.
IT Sligo is delighted to announce the launch of this new three year acting course. With skills classes, masterclasses from industry professionals, workshops and performances in our Black Box Theatre, this course will equip you to make a start as an actor in theatre, film or television.
This new programme focuses on developing writing skills over the course of three years. The students embark upon a range of writing covering fiction, nonfiction, poetry, screenwriting, playwriting, flash fiction, cultural journalism and other forms of writing.
